DaMon Ross on Deciding to Start a Company

My name is DaMon Ross, I'm the founder of Cyber Defense International. I worked my way up into the executive ranks, which is what brought me to Atlanta. I accepted the job at Suntrust Bank and I was, I was the Senior Vice President over cybersecurity operations for the bank. The merger happened a couple of years ago with Truist, BB&T all of that. My equivalent of a BB&T basically was given my role, which took my entire team and everything I had built. So that was, that had never happened before, I'd never been through a merger like that before. And, definitely had never, built an entire department and then kind of had to basically let it go. I was offered a different role, but it was a smaller role than what I was in. I was like, you know what, I'm going to try something else, because if it's this easy, I can just do it myself. At that time it was a lot of frustration. And I didn't want to go through that again. So I said, screw it. I'm going to try my hand.
I guess if you want to talk American dream you know through hard work and just taking a risk and just jumping out there and doing what I have been doing for a company for the last 20 odd years now doing it for myself and offering it, that skillset and those services to other companies that are smaller companies that needed it, Dream that worked out. And so I just kind of went with it.
